FOIL Skis, Money for Art sake!
HIGH PERFORMANCE ART
so I live in a country that has its own ski resorts, so my case I’ve be skiing on a regular basis, although I’m no expert, it did work out better finically to purchase my own equipment. Admittedly I had to do a bit of research as to which or what type of skis I should buy, and then I compared that information to my budget.
So all in all I ended up spending about €600 €385 of that was for the skis. I was lucky I bought them towards the end of the season.
In my research I did find a set of the most beautiful skis that money can buy, way over my budget and to be honest overpriced to be considered practical, but those of you who have the money might want to take a look.
Foil skis, are handcrafted by master craftsmen in northern Italy, they must be the most exclusive skis ever made, may of 8000-year-old certified Bog Oak wood 14 karat gold plated bindings and poles, they are more of a piece of art that should be displayed on wall, they really are stunning. There are four models in foils range with the top set called Named Oro-Nero, which is the ones I found, will set you back around €45,000.
So how does one justify buying skis for $50,000 is very simple if you want the best then you have to pay. I compare it to the Riva Rivarama Speed boat for €1 million again beautiful high performing yet totally impractical for the price, but you would look bloody good cruising around the modern day equivalent of Brigitte Bardot & her Riva! The thing is with the skis most the time the going to be covered in snow so to be honest from opposing factor probably not going to work if you leave them outside the pub the apres ski, you probably to have a security guard to make sure they don’t get nicked.
